Making Spaces is the brain child of Karen Knox, the daughter of a woodwork teacher and a homemaker. Her background in the arts and creative industries began at an early age and as a child she was always more interested in making things than playing out.
Karen is self-taught and launched Making Spaces in 2015 after seeing a gap in the market for achievable interior design with creativity at its centre. Since its official launch, Making Spaces has been awarded "Best of Houzz Awards" in 2016 and 2017 for both service and design. Karen's work has been featured in several publications and magazines, including Real Homes, Sunday Times, The i, At Home, HomeStyle Magazine, Abigail Ahern and Mad About the House. Karen also writes a blog where she documents her projects and shares her design ideas and finds with her readers.
The strange recurring dream she had as a child of sorting, organising, decorating and making beautiful homes for other people is now a reality.
